220 PRIORITIES

“I aim to bring the perspective of a dedicated parent, a community advocate, and a leader committed to ensuring all students thrive in a safe, transparent, and inclusive environment.”

Safety

Prioritizing Physical and Mental Health

As a mom, I know there’s nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our children. The district has made meaningful strides, like the Social Media Awareness & Digital Citizenship Campaign and working with the Barrington Police Department to expand School Resource Officers (SROs) into middle schools. Securing our school buildings with measures like secure vestibules is another critical improvement.

As a board member, I will advocate for:

  • Strengthening partnerships with local organizations to improve communication and responsiveness during emergencies.

  • Collaborating on traffic safety to ensure students arrive and leave school safely.

  • Establishing consistent safety protocols across all schools to create a unified and reliable system.

Communication and Transparency

Building Trust and Collaboration

Open communication and transparency are the foundation of a successful school district. Parents deserve clear, timely updates and a voice in decision-making. I will work to:

  • Enhance communication between teachers, the district, and families so parents stay informed about programs, changes, and resources.

  • Actively listen to parent concerns, involve families in decision-making where possible, and provide thoughtful explanations when changes need to align with the district’s goals and the best interests of all students.

  • Promote fiscal transparency by ensuring that financial resources are allocated to benefit students while protecting the district’s AAA bond rating.

Opportunity for All

Supporting every student through individualized learning pathways

Every child learns differently, and it’s important to provide opportunities that meet their unique needs. The district’s programs for accelerated learners, like extended, dual language, and Chinese immersion programs, are commendable. I want to build on this foundation to ensure all students thrive. I will advocate for:

  • Expanding awareness of the district’s advanced programs so families can make informed decisions about their children’s education.

  • Exploring flexible learning spaces for younger grades and incorporating more community-based learning opportunities.

  • Creating additional resources and programs to support middle-of-the-pack students, ensuring no one is left behind and every student has opportunities for growth.
